The CTL-030KN is a small size, robust and waterproof, battery operated
tension recorder that is suitable for measurements of cable tension loads up to 3 tons
(30KN). The recorder is designed for submerged applications in seawater.
Graphical software for the Microsoft Windows system is used for setting the operational parameters before deployment and retrieving the data after deployment. The CTL-xxxKN recorder operates up to 18 months on internal batteries. Currently available tension range: (0 to 50000N). CTL-030KN Product Description The CTL-030KN is a small size, robust and waterproof, battery operated tension recorder that is suitable for measurements of tension loads up to 3 tons (30KN). The CTL-030KN consists of a compact electronic data recorder and a load cell tension sensor. The load cell generates an electrical signal that is measured and recorded within the data recorder unit. The CTL-030KN is capable of measuring cable tension every second for more than one year, ensuring valuable information for long term research applications. External power can be supplied through the communication connector, this will extend the operating time up to 10 years. An online function enables real time data monitoring of cable tension. Maximum, minimum and mean values of each measuring interval are stored in memory at the end of each measuring interval. A typical measuring interval is 10 minutes, but it is user selectable form 5 seconds to several hours, when the instrument is set from a PC computer. CTL-030KN records the tension at a user-selected sampling interval and stores the data in memory under the control of a microprocessor. The stored data is retrieved with a PC computer using the supporting software. The software also processes the data and presents it graphically and in tabular form. Flexible export functions allow the user to export the data in a format that suits his favourite data processing software. The low cost and small size of the CTL-030KN, combined with its long battery life, open up a whole world of new applications which have hitherto been impractical to realise using more expensive and bulkier devices.
